Thunderbolts edged Kingston Commissioners 2-1

constant spring blank real mona 4-0 17.8.2011 –Last season's beaten JNBS Masters League finalist Constant Spring, unleashed their fire power on Sunday, August 14, at Buttercup Park when they easily blanked host Real Mona 4-0. 

Moses Brown and Raymond Smith scored for Spring in the first-half, while Garry Hylton and Stephen Taylor completed the 4-0 carnage in the second-half.

In the Buttercup Park opener, Maxfield shutout Harbour View 2-0 on goal by Derek Lakeman and O'Neil Ricketts.

Zone B leaders Cavalier continues to set the standard in "the group of death" when they came from a goal down deep in the second-half to edge Lion Kings 2-1 at Barbican Oval.

Courtney Waugh gave Lion Kings the lead in the first-half, but goals from Jahmiah Pettigrew and Derrick James in the second-half gave Cavalier all three points.

At Vauxhall Oval, Brown's Town edged Packers 1-0 on a 76th minute penalty by Franklyn Rose.

St. George's outscored MV Exodus 4-2 at UWI Bowl as Garfield Riley scored all four goals for the winners, and at the same venue, Pelicans and Police played to a nil-all (0-0) draw.

Thunderbolts registered a 2-1 upset win over zone A leaders Kingston Commissioners at the Bell Chung Oval. Terrance Stanford and David Archer scored for Thunderbolts, while Chris James pulled one back for the Commissioners.

In the Bell Chung Oval feature game, Santos squandered a 2-0 first-half lead as Nautica scored twice in the second-half to snatch a valuable point in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

The JNBS Masters League continues on Sunday, August 21with six double-headers, including the feature game of the round at Bell Chung Oval where zone B leaders Cavalier clash with their old rival Santos.

Santos meet Packers this Thursday night, August 18, at Winchester Park, in the final preliminary round game of the JNBS Masters FA Cup. The Round of 16 draw will be conducted at half-time of the Santos-Packers game.

League champions Barbican, along with Constant Spring, Real Mona, Park Rovers, Christian Ambassadors, and Nautica were seeded into the FA Cup Round of 16. They have since been joined by Shortwood, Portmore Masters, Boys' Town, Brown's Town, Thunderbolts, Cavalier, Harbour View, Maxfield, and Police Nationals. The Round of 16 will be completed by the winner of Thursday's encounter between Santos and Packers.
